Wash Day

While riding around the streets of Valparaiso, with The Virtual Paintout, using the Google Street View, I came across this old neighborhood, where everybody seemed to be doing their laundry. With the many colors of clothing on the lines, the picket fences and the trees climbing up the mountain, I had to stop and paint! (I painted here!)

Love all the color you put into this! And a great find in the maps - I did a lot of roaming to find something.

I did a lot of roaming too! There are so many fine pieces posted on the Virtual Paintout site, and I love seeing how other people "did" scenes I almost painted. I love the way the yellow on the house pops out with the flowers and wall on yours! I'm sure I saw that house, and think you did a great job!

You may, of course, return a painting you don't like, but please contact me within 3 working days. Send the painting back, and I will issue a refund, minus the full shipping fees (generally, I pay a portion of them). I want my customers to be happy with my work.

I have made every effort to match the digital color of the image you see to the paintings, but not all monitors, lighting effects or digital cameras are totally accurate and some variation will occur.

Artist's Statement

My main goal as a painter is to express the beauty I see around me. I feel that this is my mission in life, and I take it seriously.

I love the process of painting, itself, and me, color is the best part. I see color theory as an evolving concept, one that never ceases to amaze and delight, so to learn more, to do better... this is where I am a seeker!

I hope you enjoy these paintings, I think I can honestly say I work long and hard over them. Not because I'm a perfectionist - I'm certainly not - but because I understand that all these pieces will last a very long time. Artists, I think must also be craftsmen. We must strive to create a thing of integrity and (for me) beauty for others to share in and enjoy.
