Afternoon Tea
14 x 11"   Oil on canvas
sold

What can be more pleasant than afternoon tea? To sit and dream, or read perhaps, or just think about all the lovely flowers coming out of the garden.

This piece is painted around the edges of the canvas -  it can be framed, or hung up just as it is. I am happy to put a wire on the back.

Having Faith
20 x 16 x 1.5"
Oil on Gallery-wrapped Canvas
starting bid: $295

This is an imaginary still life, a little bit abstract, a little bit real, each flower a little study of color, shape and feeling. It was started during a difficult period of my life, a way to give me hope and help me connect to my inner happiness - and so it did. The hours I spent creating, changing and getting each little thing "just so" were what kept me going, kept me having faith in the light. Life is so much brighter now, and looking at this painting always reminds me of the power that art brings to the spirit.

Painted on a gallery-wrapped canvas the picture extends to all sides of the canvas. Framing is optional -  the painting is meant to hang flush against the wall, but you might like to add a frame.

"Two Beauties"
16 x 12"  Acrylic on canvas

These two beauties bloomed at the same time, and stood side by side, just asking to be painted. The peonies were anticipated, but the amaryllis was a surprise. Advertised as an orange amaryllis, it failed to bloom last year, and got put outside and forgotten. Imagine my surprise when I saw it start to bloom this year. Was it really orange? Ww-ell, maybe. Sorta. But beautiful none the less, and how nicely it contrasted with the peony. A still life waiting to happen!

This painting is painted on all sides of the canvas. You could frame it up, but you could also hang it up, just as it is. (I am happy to put a wire on the back.)

By the River's Edge
20 x 16 x 1.5"   Oil on canvas
starting bid: $295

(Back again!  I have been away for a few months, seeing to matters of health and finishing pieces that had sat waiting.)

This abstract piece is purely imaginary, and went through many changes and much time to get where it is now. It reflects a love for nocturnes and nature,  and considers the transcendental patterns of life. When it was started, I had no idea how it would turn out. A bit like life itself. Best of all, it was a lot of fun to paint!

Painted on all sides of a gallery-wrapped  canvas, this piece will hang flush against a wall, with no further need of framing.

Happy New Years!

Happy New Years!

"Snow Queen"
16 x 12 "  Oil on canvas

It's New Years! Again! Wishes for hope, peace and happiness for the coming year are all around us. Good health, prosperity and contentment are there as well! I hope all these things come your way, along with new experiences and great surprises you didn't even expect!

I am taking a little time away from the easel to pursue other goals, but I will be back, and hope to see you then.  I have posted a painting that symbolizes, to me, all the good things a New Year should bring.

This piece is painted on gallery wrapped canvas (1.5”); the picture continues minimally on all sides. It hangs flush against the wall and does not need framing, but you could frame it if you like.
