"Two Beauties"

These two beauties bloomed at the same time, and stood side by side, just asking to be painted. The peonies were anticipated, but the amaryllis was a surprise. Advertised as an orange amaryllis, it failed to bloom last year, and got put outside and forgotten. Imagine my surprise when I saw it start to bloom this year. Was it really orange? Ww-ell, maybe. Sorta. But beautiful none the less, and how nicely it contrasted with the peony. A still life waiting to happen!

This painting is painted on all sides of the canvas. You could frame it up, but you could also hang it up, just as it is. (I am happy to put a wire on the back.)

"Snow Queen"

It's New Years! Again! Wishes for hope, peace and happiness for the coming year are all around us. Good health, prosperity and contentment are there as well! I hope all these things come your way, along with new experiences and great surprises you didn't even expect!

I am taking a little time away from the easel to pursue other goals, but I will be back, and hope to see you then.  I have posted a painting that symbolizes, to me, all the good things a New Year should bring.


This piece is painted on gallery wrapped canvas (1.5”); the picture continues minimally on all sides. It hangs flush against the wall and does not need framing, but you could frame it if you like.

This double amaryllis, aptly named “Snow Queen,” is truly symbolic of what we would wish for the New Year - it is bright and beautiful. To me, it represents high hopes and good wishes for the coming year! I am sure we all, collectively, wish that 2018 is a year filled with peace, prosperity, good health and much optimism for all of us!
