First Roses
11" x 14" oil on canvas
nfs

First roses of the season - they are always so lush. Every year, by October I am tired of painting roses and swear I that I am done with them. But come April out they bloom in abundance, and that old siren song calls to me... "Come, paint me.... come and paint me ..." Every year I put out my best effort, never feeling like I have succeed in capturing their opulence or beauty. And yet, I always try.

This painting is painted on all sides. It can be framed as you like, or simply hung up as it is.

The Gift
oil on wrap around canvas
12" x  12"
 sold

These wonderful gerbara daisies came to us as a gift. Planted in this nice little pot, they started as a kind thought, went on to be a table decoration and ended up as a painting! Thank you again to my family for their generosity, even if this thoughtful gift was not exactly meant for me!

This piece needs no framing - although you could, of course. Painted on all sides, it hangs flat against the wall.

This painting can be purchased by clicking on the Pypal logo, or The Daily Paintworks logo on the left. It can also be purchased as a print from Fine Art America.

You can see more of my work by visiting my Gallery page at The Daily Paintworks, or or the Artists de Studio. Thank you for stopping to look!

Look familiar? Yes, this is the same painting from my last post - almost! Cheezy, I know, but I realized that it was not quite as I wanted, so I am reposting  it after making some changes. Can you tell what they are?

All other aspects of this post are the same, so for the same links and bits of fascinating information, please scroll down to the next (last) post!

Pink Peony
8" x 10"  oil on canvas
sold

This peony and her sisters are all stars in a bigger garden painting still in progress. Painting them in broad strokes made me want to study them closely, to find out exactly how they were made and how to paint them. No small task, let me tell you, but worth it.

Please visit my Gallery page at The Daily Paintworks to see more of my work.

Another site that is fun to look at is The Artists de Studio, which has studio work as opposed to plein air. With plein air painting you are out doors, painting what you see, but in the studio you can refine and enhance your work until you get what you want!

To purchase this or any other available painting (by me) simply click on the Paypal logo on your left. Thank you.

Pink Primroses
8" x 10" oil on canvas

These primroses look great, especially when so few other flowers are blooming. But I didn't really paint them because they were "flowers" per se, this painting was meant to be an exercise in color relationships. Warm colors/cool colors, harmonies and compliments, no matter how long I work at it, I will always feel like I could make things a little better. What do  you think?

This piece is for sale through The Daily Paintworks Website, link above  or directly through me. I have painted it on all sides so you can frame it up, or just hang it as it is!

And please, visit my page at Artistes de Studio to see more of my work.

Amaryllis
16" x  24"  oil on board
framed in black wood
 $250.

Winter flowers - thankful that we have them! At a time when not much is blooming around my house, I look at these lillies, with the light coming through them and feel comfort for all the beautiful things yet to come!

Please visit my gallery and auctions at the Daily Paintworks, and visit me at a new website, Artistes de Studio. This is a site produced by the folks at Plein Air Artists. While the Plein Air site is for landscape paintings - done outside "en plain air", the "Artistes" site is for studio work - which I do a lot of!
