Standing Tall
14 x 11" Oil on Board
nfs
These glads were painted right there in the garden at the height of their glory. Tall, straight and bursting with vitality. So they were when I started, but glads never last for long, and since they only bloom once a year, you have to appreciate them while you have them. I thought painting them would be an easy job, but really, it was (they were) more complicated. The longer I painted, the more I saw them as an metaphor for life - blooming and fading - perhaps you will too.
