The Subject Is Roses
12 x 9" Oil on canvas
The subject is roses, the method is palette knife painting. We must all try new or different things, branch out and keep moving forward, and that is what I was doing with this painting by using just a couple of little knives and an awful lot of paint. So do I like it and want to do more of them? Truth to tell, this method has made me appreciate the brushes so much more! I do love the ease of the clean-up, you just wipe the knives off that's it, but I think the level of articulation that a brush can deliver is much more desirable. However, with all that paint, there is a certain amount of color blending I do find attractive - I hope you will, too! Here's a bit of detail:
This piece is painted on all sides of the canvas. You could get it framed, or leave it as it is. I would be happy to put a wire on the back.
