                                             Floral Fantasia
14 x 11 x1.5" Acrylic on canvas
$250.

A lush bouquet where everything is blooming at once and all is perfect! Only in the fantasy land that is my imagination does that happen. Influenced by the Dutch Masters, I wanted to try a modern day rendition.

This piece is painted on a gallery-wrapped canvas and covers all sides of the canvas. It can be framed or not. Unframed it will hang flush against the wall. I am happy to put a wire on back if requested. It is signed on the bottom.

Spring Blooms
14 x 11"  Oil on canvas
 starting bid: $150

In Northern California, it is not unusual for all the spring garden flowers to bloom all at once, after the rainy season. So it was with the irises, the roses, and most welcome of all, the peonies. The geraniums are like a support system for the rest of the garden, they are always there for you. Before the spring flowers fade, I thought it would be a good idea to go out there and paint them all!

Peonies
14 x 11"  oil on canvas
sold

I wanted to paint a picture that came from the heart, needed no introduction or explanation, and satisfied my need to create something that I, myself, admired. Since it is a little early in the year to find a mix of  peonies in bloom, I had to use my imagination and some photos. So without a story line or actual set-up in front of me I came up with this - peonies on a table, something beautiful emerging out of the darkness.

When it is fully dry and varnished, I will get a fancy frame for it. For now I am selling it just as it is, unframed.

"Two Beauties"
16 x 12"  Acrylic on canvas

These two beauties bloomed at the same time, and stood side by side, just asking to be painted. The peonies were anticipated, but the amaryllis was a surprise. Advertised as an orange amaryllis, it failed to bloom last year, and got put outside and forgotten. Imagine my surprise when I saw it start to bloom this year. Was it really orange? Ww-ell, maybe. Sorta. But beautiful none the less, and how nicely it contrasted with the peony. A still life waiting to happen!

This painting is painted on all sides of the canvas. You could frame it up, but you could also hang it up, just as it is. (I am happy to put a wire on the back.)

Peonies
11” x 14”  oil
 nfs

When the peonies bloom you have to just stop everything and paint them. They aren’t going to wait, so you have to get to work, and try and get it right the first time. If you're lucky, you capture what beautiful and special flowers they are.

This piece is painted on all sides of the canvas, so it can be framed, or hung up just as it is.

Just Plain Peonies

Just Plain Peonies
11" x 14"  oil on canvas
 $75

These peonies, blooming in my garden were so spectacular that they just didn't need any thing else around them! Well, I used a lot of thick paint to set them off and convey how lush they are!

Like many of my paintings, this piece is painted on all sides of the canvas. It can be framed, or it can be hung just as it is.
