I wanted to paint a picture that came from the heart, needed no introduction or explanation, and satisfied my need to create something that I, myself, admired. Since it is a little early in the year to find a mix of peonies in bloom, I had to use my imagination and some photos. So without a story line or actual set-up in front of me I came up with this - peonies on a table, something beautiful emerging out of the darkness. When it is fully dry and varnished, I will get a fancy frame for it. For now I am selling it just as it is, unframed.
