Canadian Holiday
12 x 9"  Acrylic on canvas
  $75

This painting is from a photograph I took while visiting Victoria, BC, a few years ago. It was a short visit so I had no idea exactly where we might be, except at a cottage by the water. This scene has kept my interest - it has a nice layout and a nice feel - so I have always wanted to paint it.

This piece is painted on canvas with a plain black border around the sides. You can frame it, but you could hang it up just as it is.

 Standing Tall
14 x 11"  Oil on Board
 nfs

These glads were painted right there in the garden at the height of their glory. Tall straight and bursting with vitality. So they were when I started, but glads never last for long, and since they only bloom once a year, you have to appreciate them while you have them. I thought painting them would be an easy job, but really, it was (they were) more complicated. The longer I painted, the more I saw them as an metaphor for life - blooming and fading - perhaps you will too.
