Venice at Night
9" x 12" acrylic on canvas
Finally! Google maps recently added new sites to their street view, and The Virtual Paintout has at last visited La Serenissima! Venice, it's not only serene, but beautiful! I can't say enough about the beauty of Venice, the sunrises and sunsets, but also how magical it is by moonlight! I came across this glass vase of sunflowers while on a walk one morning. There they were, just sitting in an empty driveway, and there they stayed for several days. What's the story here? I'm sure there is one...
This painting is painted on all sides, so it can be framed, or hung just as it is.

Adieu to this nice tree. It, and the many trees behind the fence are slated for demolition. This is where a new apartment complex is going in and the tree-lined parking lot is on its way out. Sadly, this guy is in an especially bad place - a new turn lane is desperately needed here. So everybody can agree: it's a good tree in a bad place. It seemed important somehow to capture its likeness and to quietly celebrate its life. It's been here a long time.
This piece is painted on all sides of the canvas. It can be framed or hung as it is.
