Hilltowns of Elba
oil on board
9.5" x 13"
$75.
The Virtual Paintout went to Elba this month. Elba is an island off the coast of Tuscany best known for "hosting" Napoleon during his first exile. I wanted to paint something that captured Italy's unique qualities - the lush vegetation, the walled towns on so many hill tops, the old and the new side by side.

This painting can be seen along with my other works at my Gallery at The Daily Paintworks. It can be purchased there, or bought directly through me by clicking the "Paypal" logo on the sidebar.  Thank you for stopping to look.

  1. Has a very "in the hills" feeling about it. I especially like the foliage and sky.

  2. This is a certain simplicity, clarity and charm in this painting.
