The idea here is for the beauty of spring tulips to be highlighted by the pleasures of a summer day in the tapestry behind them. The tapestry was painted mostly in acrylics, and the tulips in oil.

This painting was obviously created in the winter, when everything felt cold and I was looking for an escape – by painting something warm and comforting. But as the picture developed it took on a life of its own with its own storyline. While the humans are elsewhere engaged, the bored little kitties get into mischief.

This piece is painted on all sides of a gallery-wrapped canvas, and signed on the bottom.
