The Virtual Paintout - a challenge where we paint from the Google street view at a specific location - was in Gdansk, Poland this month. I chose to paint this attractive little neighborhood which has both history and charm. It seems like a nice place to live, with its beautiful old buildings and lovely park areas.

The purple irises are blooming in my back yard.  It seems like a gift to have such beautiful flowers that I can pick and bring into the studio to paint!

Summer in the Garden

The sunflowers are blooming, the tomatoes are ripe, the zinnias are bursting out all over - and all at once! It actually happens!

Well no, my garden does not look like this yet, but I am waiting for the day that it does. It will, I'm sure!
