Trumbull Street Underpass,
Detroit, Michigan
9" x 12" acrylic on board
sold

The Virtual Paintout took a staycation this month and only traveled as far as Detroit. There were so many things to paint, big city buildings, some nice houses, some ruined ones, lots of industrial sites and some interesting examples of Americana and its curiosities. Looking at the work submitted by the different artists, you can see what I mean. Personally, I was really in a mood to paint trees, and discovered that the railroad tracks have lots of greenery around the underpasses. When I found this water tower peeking out through the trees, I knew I'd found my spot!

Storybook Sunflowers
12" x 16"  oil on canvas
sold

What's the story here? I don't really know -  part fact, part fiction, like many good tales. Starting out as a real stand of sunflowers growing by my house,  it turned into a fable of somewhere wonderful to live. The perfect little house, the perfect little garden, the perfect summer day. Simple as that!

This piece is painted on all sides of the canvas. It can be framed up nicely, or  hung  just as it is.

This picture can be found at Fine Art America (print-on-demand), where you can order a print of any size or a card. It's worth a visit.  To own this piece, simply click on the "Buy Now" Paypal button on your left, or email me.
